Here are what some of our Machine Frame owners have to say :
(comments from http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HinterbergQuilters, a yahoo discussion group about Hinterberg Frames)

I ordered the stretch machine quilting frame to use with my HQ16. My husband put it together yesterday and I wanted you to know that he and I were extremely impressed with how easily it was to put together, how sturdy and well made and the fact that everything was properly drilled, lined up, etc. He puts a lot of furniture, shelving, etc. together for use around our home and is often quite frustrated, but this frame was actually a pleasure to construct. I have had the Hinterberg hand quilting hoop for many years and have always loved that piece also. Again thanks for making such quality products.

I recently had trouble with my bottom carriage. I called your office for help. I was sent a new carriage. That completely corrected my problem. My point is that your product is so great but your customer service is out of this world. The person I spoke to was so helpful and extremely pleasant. I will continue to sing praises of your products AND of your outstanding customer service. They are without a doubt the best.

I just finished setting up the stretch quilt frame for the first time for my wife. Your instructions and pictures are very easy to follow and in total took about 2.5 hours. I had no problems putting it together correctly the first time. My suggestion would be to read the assembly instructions in total before you start and become familiar with the parts list included with the instructions. With a little patience and a big enough area to assemble it in you should not have any problems. This was by far the easiest do it yourself assembly I have ever done. thanks for making my wife and me happy. K.R., Texas

I can not express enough how much this frame means to me........I LOVE IT!!!! It is not only a beautiful piece of furniture but it is sturdy and well made. I wish everyone could see the wonderful way that the carriage rolls. It truely was a great purchase for me.

What an absolute pleaure this frame is!!! Thanks to everyone involved in making the manual (assembly instructions) as well as the people who packed every single little screw so neatly labeled. For once the saying: "Only in America" has real meaning!! We were able to assemble the frame in as little as 5 hours. Fitted my sewing machine yesterday evening and the whole family - or at least 3 of the 4 - have been quilting like crazy ever since. Not sure the men realize exactly what they're doing but they are anyway fascinated by the little infra-red light which follows every curve of their patterns - drawn on scrap paper (all their own designs!). Have to admit their stitch lengths are so much nicer than mine but I will get there.
It was such a pleasure doing business with Hinterberg and trust me, I will surely advertise not only the frame but also the helpfulness in making this purchase run smoothly.

Why did I buy a Hinterberg Machine Frame?
The birch is sturdy and pretty when stained.
The legs on the Hinterberg far outweigh [other machine frames] in sturdiness. I looked at [other machine frames] and thought..."Hmmmm how long before that thing starts
to wobble?"

I was able to use a [tabletop] frame while my machine was being cleaned and I
hated it. Wobbly, noisey and it was the pits to use and roll my top, batting and
backing.

The price is another factor... A lovely looking frame...and sturdy.

Making the pipe any size you want is also a plus since I have limited space in my
sewing room but I can move the frame to the larger living room when my Hubby goes
away! hee hee

I'm a Hinterberg Frame Fan, through and through.

Need I say more? grin

Happy Quilting everyone!

I love the Hinterberg because it is a very functional, well thought out design.  It is economical, sturdy, free standing, and I am able to sit to quilt.  I use a Juki machine with the frame and am pleased with the quilting area.  I do mostly free motion quilting but will attempt more pantograms once my Quilters Cruise Control arrives, as I think that will make a big difference in the look of my template quilting!
I love the Hinterberg handles, too.  Very easy to quilt from either side of the frame.  I currently use a speed control for my Juki, so the foot pedal is in the closet.
I also feel that Hinterberg's customer service is unequaled.
The company has already given us improved quilting area (standard on new frames) and the stretched frame for folks with larger machines. They are keeping in touch with what quilters want and responding.
Frame choices are very individual, but I don't think you'd be sorry with a
Hinterberg!

I now have a Hinterberg in my living room being put together, and so far I'm impressed by the workmanship. A few years ago I got a [table top system]--- lasted only about 2 wks before I sent it back.  The tracks were impossible to align enough to make them smooth--- which made the carriage stick on the tracks in those spots. The poles also bent in the middle.

  I love my Hinterberg.
My only complaint with it was that my Brother 1500 hit the
poles "too soon", but they have modified and made an extension for
the upper roller which eliminates that problem.

The entire quilt is rolled onto the frame.  It's not difficult,
but if you are doing a queen sized one, it does help to have a 2nd
person there to help roll from the other side and to make sure that
everything is rolling smoothly.  (This is true of a long-arm
quilting machine, too, although the rolling mechanism may be larger.)

Also, I have found that I DON'T have to roll up the batting.  I have
let it drape over the middle roller instead of rolling it up with
the rest of the unquilted top on the upper roller.  I feel that it
lessens the chance of a wrinkle or fold in the batting.

Does the phrase "like a hot knife through butter" sound good?
The way ANY machine moves on this system is heavenly.  It truly
glides.  I've VERY easily moved mine with only 2 or 3 fingers from
one hand while I've held a tricky corner or a quilt a little tighter with the other hand.
Truly, it is easy!

Sorry, but I'm in Florida or I'd tell you to come on over and take
her for a spin!

I was really toying with the idea of buying a [tabletop model]... I saw one in a shop and thought it would be great... THEN I went on our guild retreat last May and one of our members brought her [tabletop frame]. When I saw how it really worked and how long it took to set up and breakdown, I said NO WAY. So I did a lot of surfing on the web and lurking on some of the forums and I purchased a Hinterberg. I went with it for a couple of reasons, price being one, sitting while quilting another. But I have to say I have been very pleased ,,, I am still very new, but what I have done so far I am happy with. When I had pieced any large top before I sent it out for the price of two king size quilts I can do my own now. I also liked the fact that the Hinter is whatever size you buy your conduit ,,,, mine is king. Yes it takes a lot of length in my sewing room. But I didn't have to spend additional money on buying extended sizes like [other frames].
So shop around and really weigh the pros and cons, good luck
