The XRF has 3 ratchet wheels, 3 pawls and the hardware so you can have rachets on both ends of the rollers. You can get consistently even tension across the width of your quilt by having the rachets on both sides. This is particularly useful when working on larger quilts. Some people prefer to have the ratchets on both sides as opposed to using end tensioners.
