IS 5" THROAT HEIGHT LARGE ENOUGH?
The following picture shows a 112" quilt rolled up on the rear roller inside the throat of a Juki machine. The batting is an average loft and the tension is appropriate for a machine frame. You can see that the quilt roll is only 4.5" high.
This example shows that you can get a reasonably large quilt inside of a machine with a 5" throat height without worrying about turning the quilt. We estimate that a 130" long quilt will fit under the 5" throat area.
